why AgCl is insoluble in water however NaCl is readily soluble in it.

 solution:The first thing is in  Agcl, Ag^+ has smaller size than that of Na^+ and according Fazan rule,smaller the size of cation more will be its covalent character.moreover there is another reason which is so called 18 electrons system of Ag.according to which Ag ^+has 18 electron configuration and thr last electron enters in the d orbital which has less sheilding effect and electrons feel more attraction towards the nucleus due to which its covalent character increases.
